13 DEC - 7PM - DINNER
John took us out to a Thai restaurant that was known for its Thai traditional dancing. You could sit on the floor with cushions or up at the booths.
In honesty, traditional Thai music involves rhythmic beating of a drum and symbol - perhaps with some wailing in the background.Thai dancing is graceful with painted smiles, body held rigid whilst in motion and bent wrists, elbows and thumbs.
Dinner was dishes of fried chicken, rice, sticky rice, cabbage, pork rind, vegetable soup, mossoman curry and pork casserole.
After dinner we went to a different hall for tribal dances. These were much lighter. Children dancing amongst sliding bamboo that threatened to clip their ankles, a gaitering old man, a dragon and a peacock, and a girls tossing rice as they danced around the campfire dance.
