16 DEC - 11:30AM - KHMER RUINS
We went to some ruins of a 1000 year old temple that had been reconstructed 30 years earlier. Apparently it was the precursors of the Cambodian Khmer Ankor Wat temple. They did look a similar style.
Pigeons fluttered amongst the structures. It was reminicent of a Phil Jensen talk "Christ amongst the gods". In it PJ describes a religous statue at a Sydney shopping mall - at which the shopping centre attendants have to hose off the pigeon droppings every night - indicative of its relative power.
Jo Gamble:
"The ruins were pretty amazing. I found the symmetry of the architecture interesting."
