We piled into a Sang Taew to go to a local temple of historical significance. Chang Mai is a 700 y/o city and this temple was built in 1441. It had a pagoda at the bottom, with a moat surrouding it. At the top of the pagoda were elephants surrounding a temple building on top. Numerous smaller buildings surrounded the central temple, usually celebrating the life of a 'meritous monk'.
