7 DEC - 12:00PM - LUNCH
We had lunch with the teachers from the school. Lunch was spicy fish, green curry, rice noodles, pink jellies and mandarins from the teachers garden.
Most of the teachers seemed to have been teaching for 15-25 years, and looked quite relaxed.
After lunch we proceeded to teach the kids cricket with the bats that Dave had made. We think they got it, but the finer points of being run out or LBW were lost on them.
After that they taught us takraw - which is a combination of hackey-sack and volleyball. The top level players in Thailand do fancy moves like hand-stand ankle spikes over the net. In the beating sun this was much more exhausting than cricket, and most of us were quickly forced into retirement. The ball was hollow made from woven cane, which makes it bouncy - being about the size of a rockmelon.
